PHASE 1 :: Collina Strada used Skullcandy broken, returned headphones for their 2019 NYFW show as accessories. They altered the headphones by drawing on them to go with their fall collection. There was a lot of buzz after the show so Skullcandy and Collina Strada decided to collaborate and create 2 limited edition products: Crusher Evo and Indy True Wireless.
PHASE 2 :: We familiarized ourselves with Collina's aesthetic and worked with manufactures to see what was possible. We test printed different patterns on our product and explored the idea of adding funky pins to the headband.
PHASE 3 :: We presented multiple concepts to Collina's team — we played with different patterns, color blocking, and unique materials. We ended up deciding to go with the tie-dye pattern which was similar to the pair of headphones they had colored and used as accessories for the NYFW show.
PHASE 4 :: I recreated the tie-dye pattern and Hillary Tillmour, Founder and Creative Director of Collina Strada, created little doodles that we pad-printed on the headphones. We rendered final images for our manufacturer and created spec docs for the factory.
PHASE 5 :: We test printed different materials for the headband and the carrying bag and worked with our manufacturers to test the quality and durability.
Above are final images of the product: limited edition Crusher Evo and Indy Wireless. This collaboration received a lot of press and our team was stoked on the way this product turned out.
